Snowflake enterprise roadmap for RBAC, governance, disaster recovery, and SOX compliance

As Snowflake SELECT Partners, TaylorMade Software was engaged by HD Supply to architect a year-long roadmap for Snowflake maturity, focusing on enterprise-grade security, automation, and compliance. With Snowflake and Google Cloud already in place, the goal was to enhance governance, accelerate DevOps, and prepare for full SOX audit readiness.

We designed and delivered a strategic rollout across six initiatives: RBAC, Data Governance, Data Sharing, Disaster Recovery (BCDR), Pipeline Optimization, and SOX Compliance. Our roadmap included role-based access control automation with 80+ Snowflake roles mapped to AD and SailPoint, integrated with ServiceNow for provisioning and de-provisioning workflows.

We established a governance framework leveraging Snowflake tags, masking, tokenization with Satori/ALTR, and automated policy application using Snowsight Horizon AI. We also defined pipeline optimization strategies leveraging FinOps and PerfOps telemetry, along with the use of Iceberg tables and external GCS stages to reduce ingest costs.

Our disaster recovery plan included regional replication and blue/green failover, while SOX compliance mechanisms incorporated Splunk, DataOps.live, and Snowflake grant reporting to support complete audit traceability and security controls.

This strategic engagement positioned HD Supply to operate Snowflake securely, efficiently, and in full alignment with regulatory and business requirements.
