Volkswagen required enhancements to their vehicle logistics system for managing transportation of new vehicles from the factory to global dealerships via trains, ships, planes, and trucks. TaylorMade Software was brought in to improve the core C#.NET Compact Framework application running on CE OS handheld devices.
The solution integrated with Oracle ADF middleware and Oracle PL/SQL databases, enabling real-time updates to vehicle disposition, bill of lading generation, and transport tracking. We enhanced system stability, localized the app in German, Portuguese, and English, and ensured smooth interoperability across the Java-based backend.
This robust solution enabled port and freight staff to quickly and accurately coordinate shipments in multiple regions and languages, reducing bottlenecks and improving data accuracy at every stage of the transport chain.
