Zero Trust Sophos SD-WAN with HA firewalls, encrypted Wi-Fi, POS/HMS integration, and ISP failover for Wildflower Motel in Point Arena, CA.

The Wildflower Motel in Point Arena, California, needed to modernize their hospitality IT stack and deliver secure, reliable connectivity for guests, staff, and business operations. Their requirements spanned secure POS transactions, hotel management system (HMS) integration, encrypted guest Wi-Fi, and resilient connectivity across their scenic coastal property.

TaylorMade Software architected and delivered a high-availability (HA) Sophos firewall deployment with redundant failover capabilities. A Zero Trust encrypted environment was established using Sophos Central, Endpoint, and Mobile Intercept X protections—fortified with XDR (Extended Detection and Response) and MDR (Managed Detection and Response) for real-time defense against cyber threats.

For guest and staff connectivity, we conducted a full RF heat survey to map coverage zones and eliminate dead spots. We then deployed weather-proof outdoor Sophos access points to deliver reliable, encrypted Wi-Fi in the Tavern area, reception, and motel rooms. Guests could now enjoy secure, seamless connectivity while management had confidence in the privacy and compliance of all transactions.

Beyond security, we assisted Wildflower Motel in evaluating and selecting the best POS and HMS platforms for their business needs. We integrated these systems directly into their secure network environment, ensuring encrypted payment processing and uninterrupted hotel operations.

To ensure resilience, TaylorMade Software implemented dual ISP connectivity with automatic failover, as well as redundant power safeguards. With these enhancements, Wildflower Motel can continue operations without disruption—even in the event of outages—offering both guests and staff a seamless, protected hospitality experience.
